5 Myths of Productivity

Things you should remember when working harder, not smarter

From some of my favourite lessons from years of working in productivity software that I’ve learnt the hard way…

1. The more you work the better for your output

This is a common misconception. While it’s true that putting in more hours can sometimes lead to more output, it’s not always the case. In fact, overworking can actually have the opposite effect. When you’re exhausted, your productivity can plummet, leading to less work getting done. Additionally, working too much can lead to burnout, which can have long-term consequences on your productivity. So, while it’s important to put in the hours, it’s also important to take breaks and prioritize your well-being.

2. Less sleep doesn’t matter

Another common misconception is that less sleep doesn’t matter. Many people believe that they can function just fine on minimal sleep, but this is rarely the case. Sleep is crucial for productivity, as it allows your body and mind to rest and rejuvenate. When you don’t get enough sleep, you’re more likely to feel sluggish, unfocused, and unmotivated.
