Brilliant question! I struggled with this in the first few months. What I would recommend if you feel sleepy, is to shower first or stretch. Something that wakes your body up for meditation.
Naturally you want it to be more enjoyable and beneficial than an extra hour or two of sleep right!? During those 10-minutes of shower and stretching, I’d recommend avoiding any media consumption, this will distract you and potentially damage your meditation.
Just keep it basic. They are my thoughts. :-)
