My wild prediction on what’s next for Notion’s experience

Notion has had an interesting time recently buying 3 start-ups in a 12 month window. I wanted to make a wild prediction on where I believe Notion is heading with their next acquisition and why it’s important.

Notion has hinted at the role sync tools (real-time) plays in the ability to manage workspaces in the past when announcing Cron (their recent acquisition):

Notion is making software toolmaking ubiquitous. Although our product is asynchronous, we believe in the power of synchronous tools like video and messaging too — and time is the bridge between the two.

Real-Time Messaging Tools

One of the major tools Notion lacks is the ability to create calls, message and keep in touch whilst being in live sync with each other.

Whilst Notion hasn’t needed this — in order to take on Microsoft — I believe it firmly needs an ability to do this within the experience.
