Calendar applications have been so up and down these last few years. Woven presented an exciting new take on personal and work calendar but was snapped up by giant Slack, and now we’re left with a fragmented market.

Last month, Cron — a beautifully designed calendar app — was purchased by growing enterprise app, Notion after the founders conversed about how calendar abilities would make Notion’s synchronous efforts better.

Today, I wanted to explore Cron vs Amie — what happened and the rising calendar applications to take its place.

Cron was a bright-eyed calendar application with a world-class design — sadly, Notion saw the potential of the calendar experience and how well it connects to their long-term vision of offering both a-sync/sync experiences inside of Notion.
