Top 5 Recent Kickstarter/IndieGoGo Tech
Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been keeping my eye on Product Hunt and also Kickstarter and IndieGoGo looking for some really innovative inventions and creations that affect the productivity world. Whether they are IoT-based, app-based or even a SAS product — I was eager to share a few with you.
Here are my top picks from Kickstarter/IndieGoGo for this month so far:
1. Glance Clock: one clock to manage your day
I discovered the Glance Clock whilst browsing some upcoming IoT innovations. I was instantly drawn by Glance’s clever concept. Glance clock is essentially is a solution for the modern worker, combining your time monitoring and a notifications manager in the form of a wall clock. Glance clock provides useful information across your day when you need it. Glance clock can actually shows answers that you ask Amazon’s new tool Alexa…

Glance clock can be placed in your office or at home and becomes the beacon in the room to monitor any upcoming activities. Glance clock serves incoming messages, meeting notifications, call notifications, traffic updates, weather warnings, ETAs and integrates with a lot of major services like Messenger, What’s App, alarm clocks, health and fitness apps and tools like email and calendars. Glance clock will serve as your notification centre from everything to upcoming meetings to traffic conditions even timings so you’re never late. It even integrates with Todoist which got me excited!

I’m going to keep an eye on this as it starts its journey on IndieGoGo as an upcoming IoT solution for professionals.

2. Golchi Bottle: Most versatile and customisable bottle ever

Bottles are a great tool across your day to store your liquids and keep your body hydrated. The issues with a lot of bottles remains in their strength and durability. For me, I use an Evernote bottle — from their range with S’well — but I have some issues with the bottle becoming damaged thanks to it’s steel exterior and interior reducing my usage thanks to scarcity of ruining it. This bottle from Golchi looked impressive, it’s supposed to offer a stylish and durable experience and a fully customisable one too.
Many people find bottles difficult to customise. Some put stickers or their name on bottles, but with Golchi you can apply a lot more — it’s pretty impressive. Have a look at which selections they have in store.

3. Dot — The physical push notification

Featured across a lot of media. Dot has been regarded as a game changer for push notifications. Sometimes we struggle with push notifications based on their relevance but with Dot you can set-up personal notification based on proximity. There is a lot of hard science behind Dot and it’s technology allowing you a piece of mind as you go across your busy day.

Each of the notifications contain an element of customisation allowing you to choose the next actions. The video explains this very well (make sure to watch it) and I can see how this could serve very well across homes and offices. Another note, the design is very subtle and offers flexibility.

4. Gaze Desk — a smart standing desk

Over the last few months I’ve been trying to hack standing desks into my daily routine. Cafes and bars offering good Wi-Fi become my hubs for getting work done, sometimes their situation with desk set-up remains solely with table and chairs. At home, I also struggle to customise a set-up as we have amazing sofas but no desk area.
For those who struggle with this issue across their day. Gaze desk comes into play. Wow! This desk is smart! It connects to your smartphone based on elements of desk usage. Punch in your height and it’ll adjust accordingly, been sat down too long, the desk will notify you on your phone and it’ll even notice when you approach. Two sections allow you to place your keyboard on one area and monitor on the other. It’s really an impressive new desk that you should definitely consider.
